This speech should be heartfelt and will detail how beautiful his Bride is and perhaps how they met. So things a groom should mention:
-
The Groom is expected to thank his family and his Bride's family for all their support during the wedding (though it is a little vulgar to mention money outright!)
-
You should mention your gratitude at the support and love you have received throughout your life from your parents and for any gifts you and your new wife have received
-
You should also express gratitude at the welcome you have received from your new in-laws and for the Bride's Father's good wishes
-
If gifts are being given to your parents and your new in-laws, it should be done after their mention or just as you are winding up, just before your concluding remarks
-
If anyone has travelled long distances for the day it is also polite to mention their efforts
-
You should also mention the bridesmaids and any other attendants how well they have performed their duties, getting the bride there on time and how wonderful they look. After this is when any gifts to the bridesmaids are usually given
-
The speech ends with a toast: "To the bridesmaids!"
